Thank you so much for approving our application for your program. I don't even know what to say to thank you all enough! We applied thinking it was a long shot that we would be approved. So when we got the phone call today, we were beyond amazed at our blessings!

We are currently at the hospital, again. We spent 6 weeks in the NICU when Cooper was born, and now we are at the U of M for his open heart surgery. We had thought this stay would be short, about 4-10 days. But here we are, 22 days later! Cooper had many complications with his surgery.... he had to get a pacemaker because his heart wouldn't beat on its own after surgery, he contracted a very serious infection, and he developed a blood clot in his leg. Needless to say, this money comes at a time when we couldn't have needed it more! We were starting to wonder how in the world we were going to be able to pay for our hotel, not to mention all the medical bills! This will definitely help. :)

Cooper is doing much, much better. In fact, they are telling us we may be home by this weekend! We will have to go home with 2 antibiotics to avoid any further infections, and twice daily shots for 6 months to avoid any more blood clotting problems. But we're going home! And his heart is perfect. :) My husband and I have been here every single day, watching over our strong little man. Thank you for helping us do that. We will be so happy to take him home and have our whole family back together with Cooper's big sister!

So thank you thank you thank you. You have such an amazing program, and we will be sure to pass the word about the wonderful gift you have given us!

Love,
Angel, Dave, Grace, and Cooper Dockendorf
